Account Reps:
Call on local businesses and organizations both in person and by telephone to discuss their advertising needs and how best The Beaufort News can serve those needs. Successful applicants will have strong communications skills, a professional businesslike appearance, and a minimum of 3 years successful sales experience. Must be a self starter who can set and maintain your own hours. Must have reliable transportation and a laptop or notebook computer for making sales presentations.

Freelance reporters:
Can you write? Are you observant and detail oriented? Would you like to see your work in print? We are seeking freelance reporters to cover a full spectrum of local news. Those who are successful with our freelance program will be considered for full time employment in the future. Student reporters:
We are seeking “cub” reporters to report on middle school and high school events, activities, sports, and general news. We have one full section devoted to education and we prefer to present the majority of education related news from the viewpoint of the student. If you are a student who enjoys writing and/or photography, we would like to invite you to join our staff as an apprentice reporter. We will interface with your English or Creative Writing teacher on a regular basis to coordinate your involvement at the “News” with your classroom studies. This is an unpaid submission based arrangement that is designed to give worthy students an opportunity to develop their journalism skills. All student reporters will be issued official press credentials. We will always watch the performance of our “cub reporters”, and those who excel will be given strong consideration when we have paid positions available. Recreational League Sports Contributors:
Do you have children who play in PALS sports leagues, Amercian Legion, or travel ball? Wouldn’t it be nice to see their accomplishments published in the local news? You can help! We need parents and friends of these leagues to either write stories on games and general league news or to submit game scores and details to us so that we can write the stories. We at the “News” believe that our local children are the future of America. We believe that their accomplishments deserve a showcase.
