TCL Offers Financial Aid Workshop

BEAUFORT, S.C. – The Technical College of the Lowcountry will offer a financial aid workshop Saturday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the MacLean Hall Student Center at the Beaufort Campus on 921 Ribaut Road. The event is free and open to the public.

The “College Goal Sunday” workshop is designed to help college-bound students and their families with the financial aid application process and will provide assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Financial aid professionals will be on hand to help students and their parents complete the necessary paperwork to get the funding needed to go to any college or university and will provide information about financial aid options and eligibility for grants and scholarships.

TCL will waive its $25 application fee for anyone submitting a completed TCL admission application that day.

Participants should plan to bring the following:

  • Student’s 2009 state and federal tax returns
  • Parents’ 2009 state and federal tax returns
  • Social Security Number
  • Driver’s License
  • Verification of untaxed income (Social Security, TANF, veteran’s benefits, etc.)
  • Alien registration number (if an eligible noncitizen)
